Map It Monday - Baby Punch Bunch

I've been having some fun with the Sale-a-Bration Punch Bunch Stamp Set this week.  This little baby image that fits the small tag punch caught my attention and was ideal for this card map layout.  I have created this bright, happy welcome baby card.  Isn't it sweet?

A retired Simply Scrappin' kit had these cheerful designer series papers & I think they look terrific on this baby card!  The small oval punch and the small tag punch are both used for the message element.  A Pumpkin Pie cs oval is layered underneath the tag image.

Hold on to your Simply Scrappin' kits after they retire!  I think they multiply in the package - there are soooo many stickers, papers, and journaling tags in each package!

Fast Friday - Stack of Notes

If you attended my Stampin' For Christmas Stamp Camp in December, you may remember making this cute little note card stack.

It was such a quick gift to make so it's a perfect addition to a Fast Friday post.

Here's how to make it:

Cut Whisper White card stock into small pieces, all the same size.  Choose a message to stamp onto each one.  I have stamped the "things to buy" image from the retired "I Heart Lists" stamp set.  That is a great little stamp set for gift-making!

Stack the notes, wrap in some pretty designer series paper, & add an embellishment!  That's it!

Such a cute little hostess gift or a thinking of you gift!

Happy weekend!

Think About Color Thursday - Baja Breeze, Wild Wasabi, and Early Espresso

Sale-a-Bration Bliss Stamp Set Card
This week's color combination:

Baja Breeze
Wild Wasabi
Early Espresso

This Bliss Stamp Set sure is fun to work with!  I love creating vintage styled cards using Bliss.  Lots of soft images, lots of sponging, lots of distressing.

I added a Hodgepodge Hardware Oval Keyhole Anchor and Brad, a Decorative Label punched piece from Wild Wasabi cs, plus some more distressing of the edges for good measure.

Whatever Wednesday - Very Scallopy Squares

Here's a beautiful card I made today with the Sweet Summer Sale-a-Bration Stamp Set.  Isn't this little flower just adorable?  I stamped it repeatedly with Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink onto vellum paper.  It is adhered with the inked side down onto a square of Very Vanilla cs.

The card is created by putting Cherry Cobbler cs through the Stampin' Up Big Shot Machine with the Scallop Square Clear Stampin' Up Bigz Die.  I folded a standard A2 card (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") & laid it over the scallops on the die, except the card's fold is below the scallops on the top edge of the scallop die.  The fold stays uncut that way.

I also created a black embossed frame.  Black cs is  cut with the Scallop Square Duo Bigz Die (the largest square on the die is the only one I used).  I then cut the interior out of the square on a paper cutter and ran the frame through the Big Shot again with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Die to create the texture on the frame.  The frame is centered and adhered over the vellum cs.

I finished off my card with Very Vanilla Satin 5/8" Ribbon and a message from the Something to Celebrate Hostess Level Two Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  You can get that stamp set for free with a $300 Stampin' Up workshop.  Please contact me if you would like to pass Stampin' Up catalogs around at work, in the neighborhood, or have a fun event where you and your guests can make cards for free and place product orders!

Tuesday Tips - Layered Scallops

The scallop edge punch can transform a card into this!

I have punched the bottom edges of strips of Night of Navy cs with the Scallop Edge Border Punch to create scalloped edges.  I then layered them onto this Wild Wasabi card to create this beautiful look that reminds me of the old flapper dresses.......(not that I have actual memories of flapper dresses, but I've seen pictures of them lol).

Sale-a-Bration's Sweet Summer stamp set (let me remind you that you can get this stamp set for free! - just ask me about it!) takes center stage again.  The butterflies are stamped with Very Vanilla ink onto the card.  The flowers are stamped with Night of Navy classic ink and leaves in Wild Wasabi classic ink onto Very Vanilla cs.

The "happy anniversary" is stamped in Night of Navy classic ink.  This  stamp is a new one - isn't the front pretty?  It is part of the Level Two Hostess Stamp Set called Something to Celebrate, from the current Occasions Mini Catalog.  The set has a bunch of awesome messages, including phrases for Mother's day, Father's Day, Easter, and New Baby, all in pretty different fonts.

Have a fantastic day!

Map It Monday - Watercolor Happy Heart Fields

Two valentine stamp sets are used in today's card, though the card isn't necessarily for Valentine's Day.  It would be a sweet card for a birthday, anniversary, or even thinking of you.  This map layout features both the Valentine Defined stamp set from the current Occasions Mini catalog and A Happy Heart stamp set.  They look good together, don't you think so?

The heart fields are stamped onto watercolor paper that has a watercolor-washed background.  I also stamped some of the tiny hearts from the "happy heart" dandelion stamp onto the watercolor paper to tie both images together.

The button is a gray corduroy button from Stampin' Up.

I love the stickers included in the paper and accents pack - perfect for a quick Fast Friday card!

Doesn't this Ice Cream Parlor suite just make you want some summer?!!!!

Think About Color Thursday - Wild Wasabi, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla

My color combination this week is  a natural trio of color that is the palette for the Stampin' Up Woodland Walk designer series paper.

Wild Wasabi
Crumb Cake
Very Vanilla

I have used two of the patterns from this beautiful paper pack on the card.

Every layer on this sympathy card is sponged with Crumb Cake or Wild Wasabi on the edges.  The Sale-a-Bration Sweet Summer flower stamp is stamped in Wild Wasabi ink and colored with Wild Wasabi and Crumb Cake Stampin' Write markers.

The ribbon is Kraft Taffeta ribbon.

Isn't the flower stamped onto the polka dot dsp pretty?  I love that look!

Whatever Wednesday - Bashful Gift Card

Today I'm bringing you a sweet little gift card holder card that we will be making at my March All Occasion Card Stamp Camp (Wednesday, March 9).  The color combination is Old Olive and Bashful Blue, two tried and true colors.  I've used some retired dsp, as well as some of the Jolly Holiday designer series paper from the big catalog to pull those two colors in on the papers.

"Birthday wishes" and the little butterfly in flight are both images from the Sale-a-Bration stamp set called "So Happy For You".  That stamp set is sooooo cute!  On the inside of this card I stamped "a little something" from the Hodgepodge Happiness stamp set.  It's a small message, but you can see it on the top flap.  I just noticed that the two sets match & I love that!  The style of the Sale-a-Bration So Happy For You and the Hodgepodge Happiness butterflies are the same!  A slot under the flap presents the gift card.

A belly band with some stamping and punched flowers finish off the card and keep it closed.

By the way, Hodgepodge Happiness is one of the stamp sets that are included in the free stamp set offer shown on the inside back cover of the Sale-a-Bration brochure!  That means - you could get both stamp sets FREE with a $100 order before the end of March!  Think of all the combinations you can make when you design cards with both of these stamp sets!

Don't forget to register for the March 9 stamp camp so you can make this card!

Tuesday Tips - Coloring Heat Embossed Line Images

What do you think of this orange birdcage?  This Aviary stamp set image is heat embossed onto Whisper White cs and then colored with a Stampin' Write marker.  The image is raised and shiny from the heat embossing and colorful within the lines!  The marker leaves a little residue on the embossing, so simply wipe the embossed image with a paper towel to make sure it is removed.

This technique would be especially pretty for a multi-colored image with several marker colors.  Give it a try!

Map It Monday - Decorative HB

I never have enough masculine cards, so here is a birthday card I made today that would be a good choice to create for a man's special day.

The new Decorative label punch is quite versatile.  Not only does it look great for messages, but there are other uses.  One thing I like to do with this versatile punch is to create borders with aligned decorative labels.

Love Impressions designer series paper is matted onto Real Red cs to create the large panel on this card front.  Three Real Red Decorative Labels are aligned underneath the right edge to create a lovely decorative border!

I adhered a strip of Basic Gray cs across the dsp & topped it off with a message adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The message stamp is from the Sale-a-Bration Punch Bunch stamp set.  You can get this stamp set for free when you place a $50 order before the end of March!  I stamped with Real Red Classic ink and punched the image with the scallop square punch.  This is the stamp set:

Get this stamp set FREE with a $50 order before March 31, 2011!!!

There are so many cute cards I can make with this set!   Stay tuned for more!

Fast Friday - Olive Dotted Thanks

This week's Fast Friday card is created from two Old Olive Top Note diecuts.  Score one of the top note cuts about an inch from the top edge & adhere the two top notes together by applying adhesive just above the score line & press the two pieces together.

I stamped in Old Olive Classic ink with the Dot, Dot, Dot a la carte background stamp both on the top of the card and diagonally on the bottom.

The message image is the thanks stamp from the Perfect Punches stamp set.  It is inked with More Mustard Classic ink, punched with the scallop oval punch, and adhered with a Stampin' Dimensional.  Lastly, I wrapped More Mustard grosgrain ribbon around the card front.

Happy Weekend!

Think About Color Thursday - Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette

Sale-a-Bration "BLISS" stamp set
My blog this week is featuring the color combination of:

Cherry Cobbler
Very Vanilla
Pink Pirouette

Today's card features the Sale-a-Bration stamp set called Bliss.  It is such a beautiful, romantically styled set.  You can get this stamp set free when you place a $50 product order.  Let me know if you would like this stamp set and I can assist you.

I have stamped onto Very Vanilla cs with Pink Pirouette classic ink and Cherry Cobbler classic ink.  Cherry Cobbler cs is used for the card and card layers.

The card stock layers are distressed, which give the card that antique appearance.  The Cherry Cobbler cs layer is actually crumpled into a wad, as if to toss it in the trash can, uncrumpled, and then distressed.

Pink Pirouette striped grosgrain ribbon embellishes the card and paper piercing adds fine detail.

Whatever Wednesday - Circle Flipup Scrapbook

Hello!

Isn't this a beautiful mini scrapbook?  It folds up and ties with a ribbon bow and, when opened, is tied into a bow and left on a coffee table!  If you didn't attend my scrapbooking camp last month, you missed out on making the mini scrapbook in today's post.  If you are interested in making this project, let me know & we could maybe repeat the class.

What a great way to display recent pics from a special event.....an engagement, a wedding, a milestone birthday, big party, whatever the event may be!  Or, what about pics of a loved one who lives far away!

a view from above

I'm so excited about this project...can you tell?  I have made several of these mini scrapbooks to give as gifts, including this one for a friend/customer that is getting married.

The March scrapbooking night class that I am hosting will spotlight another scrapbook made from CD folders.  It even has pockets!  It is a tossup as to which of these two beauties is the best!   Love them both!

Tuesday Tips - Matchbook Snack

Give a stamped little candy treat for Valentine's Day!

Here I have created a matchbook enclosure for a chocolate candy.  The front closes like a matchbook and a glue dot is used to adhere the snack to the cs.  Any designer series paper and stamped image can decorate it for the occasion.  I also attached a mini metal library clip to this particular one.

matchbook opens to reveal a snack!

We will be making a similar matchbook at tomorrow's Stamp Camp!

Map It Monday - Olive and Saffron Fields

Sorry about the blurriness of this photo.

The card is Cameo Coral cs (retired).   The stamp set today is the new Valentine Defined set from the current Occasions Mini catalog.  I stamped the heart flowers with Whisper White Craft ink onto Old Olive cs.    I adhered it beside a piece of So Saffron Patterns Designer Series Paper.

Next, I punched Whisper White cs with the scallop edge border punch along the bottom and left sides.  This punched cs piece is wrapped in doubled striped Old Olive grosgrain ribbon and adhered to the card.

The stamped message image is from the Filled With Love stamp set from the Holiday 2010 Mini Catalog.

Fast Friday - Poppy Birds

Here comes Aviary again!  Yes, I cannot get enough of these birds & their cages.  Today, I'm stamping cageless birds.

Today's cards truly are fast cards to stamp.  I made two of them within five or ten minutes.  The cards are Poppy Parade cs.

I stamped the long legged birdies with Poppy Parade Classic ink onto Whisper White cs, no rhyme or reason....just have fun stamping them!

Punch Tempting Turquoise cs with the new Decorative Label punch & tuck it underneath the Whisper White cs strip.  On one of the cards here I have stamped a message prior to adhering the Tempting Turquoise label.

A wrap of Tempting Turquoise 1/4" grosgrain ribbon dresses up the card - you're done!

Have a great weekend!

Think About Color Thursday - Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Old Olive

Pairing yellows - what an idea!  Here's the color combination for this week:

Daffodil Delight
So Saffron
Old Olive

I had this watercolored flower left over from a recent workshop, so I decided to put it to good use!

On a Whisper White card, I layered Old Olive and So Saffron cs.

I wrapped Old Olive ribbon (retired designer ribbon) around the corners of the watercolor paper and adhered it to the So Saffron cs with a double layer of dimensionals.

Lastly, I stamped the flower styled button from the Button, Button stamp set from the Occasions Mini catalog (isn't it cute?) with Daffodil Delight classic ink onto Daffodil Delight cs.  I layered this onto So Saffron cs.  The flowered cs strip is adhered with dimensionals across the card.

Whatever Wednesday - Elegant You

I've been having some fun with my embossing folders.  The one I used on today's card is so beautiful, isn't it?  It's called Elegant Lines.  The dry embossing done with this folder is deeply grooved.  The name is appropriate - very elegant.

Just a quick post today!  Getting ready for next week's Valentine stamp camp!

Tuesday Tips - Spell It Out One Punch At a Time

I made this thank you card and thought you maybe would like to make it too, so here's my Tuesday Tip this week:

spell out a word on a card front with punches stamped with alphabet letters.

This card didn't take very long to create, and it was quite fun!

Choose a rainbow of cs colors to punch out with the Medium Jewelry Tag.  Stamp alphabet letters onto each tag.

The card front is dry embossed with a few horizontal lines across the card using a paper cutter and a bone folder or stylus.  Choose two of the tag colors for stripes of color.  You can leave the cs strips plain, or you could punch them with your favorite edge or border paper punch.  I have punched the Pacific Point card stock with the scallop ribbon punch.

Everything is simply adhered to the card, with the "t" in "thanks" adhered to a 1 3/8" circle and then to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I also punched the card front's lower corners with the Scallop Trim Corner Punch.

Depending on the colors you choose, this card might be a nice masculine card.
