Map It Monday - Tag Map

A gift tag map is the map for this week.  Gift tags can be attached to a present with a ribbon, used independently, or adhered to a card as a focal point.
I began with Whisper White cs and ran it through a diecutting machine with the Stampin' Up Two Tags Bigz Die.  There are two different tags that will die cut when you use this die.  This project's particular style of tag uses the wider tag.  Use the other tag for another project!

Score the tag on the score lines with a bone folder to give it a nice crease.  Open the tag up & stamp a message onto what will be the inside of the tag.  I chose "wonderful mother".  The Stampin' Up Classic Stampin' Pad in Basic Black is used for the message.

The Wings of Friendship stamp set's Hawaiian-style flower is stamped in first, second, and third generation stamping on the interior of the tag.  Along the top edge of the tag is a Melon Mambo stamped image from the Vintage Vogue Stamp Set.  This bar-style flower image creates a beautiful border.

The same Hawaiian flower is stamped onto the front of the tag, just like on the inside of the tag.  I also repeated the Melon Mambo bar-style flower image across the bottom on the tag front.

I stamped "for you" onto Melon Mambo cs and punched it out with the Modern label punch.  I also stamped another Hawaiian flower in Basic Black ink onto Melon Mambo cs, and I trimmed around the flower with trimming scissors.    A bone folder distresses and curls/curves the modern label.  I also punched a 1 3/4" circle from Basic Black cs.  The circle and the Melon Mambo flower are adhered to the tag front, and then a pewter brad is inserted into the modern label.  The modern label is then adhered, and I allowed it to curve & curl so the label was really floating above the tag, with the help of a dimensional on each end.

A jumbo pewter eyelet is set into the diecut hole in the tag.  I used the Crop-o-Dile.  A strand of ribbon finishes it off.

Here is a map layout for this tag.  Happy tagging!

Linda
